Phoebe's tvarohové šátecky

Thanks to Phoebe Tayerle for her recipe for tvarohové šátečky. Phoebe was wanting to make a pastry similar to those in Czech called: tvarohové šátečky, so she adapted recipes from 'Tori Avey' and 'Geoff's Baking Blog'

tvarohové šátečky recipe using Wangapeka QuarkWangapeka Quark

Ingredients:

  • Short Cut Pastry (Phoebe used "homebrand" frozen sheet pastry)
  • 500g Wangapeka Quark
  • Caster Sugar
  • 2 Egg Yolks
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • Zest of one lemon

Mix 500g of quark with 1/2 or less of caster sugar, add 2x egg yolks, 1 tsp vanilla extract, zest of 1 lemon. 

Place custard textured mix into middle of pastry squares and folded in the corners to make parcels. 

Cook on 200 C for about 10-15 minutes. 

Serve warm or cold with icing sugar sprinkled over.
