"I attended Karen’s Halloumi and Ricotta cheese making course in Nelson Tuesday night.
What a fabulous course - I don’t think I would have the gumption to make cheese without attending. The course gives you the visual, the personal, the hands on, the one in one with tutor and Karen and the actual of making.Great course - tutor was excellent as was team Wangapeka - in fact I’ll be going to the next course to learn how to make Feta.The Halloumi I made and brought home is just yum! Cooked some and put into salad and stir fry so far and oh my god - the flavour!!The Ricotta I have put into an Orange and Ricotta cake that is baking at the mo. "My husband and I recently attended the Ricotta and Halloumi cheesemaking class held at NMIT and had a brilliant time! Instructions from the tutors were very clear but they were always happy to help if confusion set in. This was the first time we'd attempted to make cheese and we went home feeling absolutely confident that we could achieve the same result at home. We were pretty successful with the amount of cheese we produced so may be worth taking a container with a lid along. (A box is provided but if we'd been on a bike it may have been a little difficult to carry!! ) A brilliant time that should be shared with a partner or friend.
